We carry out a wide range of work to create, conserve, protect and promote ponds.
We lead on and are involved in conservation work, community projects, surveys, resrearch and policy-related work.
Key projects and highlights of our work include:
This is an ambitious project to dig half a million new high-quality potential ponds in the UK, with clean water, that are good for biodiversity.
We want to find out what really lives in the UK's garden ponds through our Big Pond Dip survey, now in its third year. We also provide advice and support, based on our latest research, to help you create and manage ponds - via our web-site, booklets and leafelts and through our e-mail advice line service
This will help to protect ponds in the UK. We are joint leaders with the Environment Agency.
We are joint founders of the EPCN and co-ordinate the Promoting Pond Conservation in Europe and the Mediterranean Region (Pro-pond) project.
we carry out small and large-scale surveys of ponds to find out how good they are for biodiversity.
