Invasive plants and animals

Introduced (or non-native) plants and animals are a problem for ponds because they can quickly take over. Once they are established, it is very hard to get rid of them because they are often more vigorous than native species - with no natural predators they can grow unchecked.

So the best way to deal with them is to avoid them in the first place.
