One of the easiest things you can do to encourage wildlife literally on your doorstep, is to make a pond in your garden.
Once you've done the hard work of digging (for advice see Make a pond), your pond doesn't have to be hard work to look after and there is lots of wildlife that you might be lucky enough to see.
